The Alberg

Situated between the provinces Vorarlberg and Tyrol between cliffy peaks and steep slopes one can find the Arlberg – the emeralds of the Alps, mostly covered with about 11 meters of snow. The Arlberg is known to be the cradle of alpine skiing, on the slopes of the Arlberg, alpine skiing was perfectionned. Many Olympic and World champions: Karl Schranz, Mario Matt, Trude Jochum-Beiser, Othmar Schneider, Egon Zimmermann and Patrick Ortlieb –  to mention just a few known names, come from the region. The Ski-Club Arlberg, founded 1901, is the first Austrian skiclub and one of the oldest of the world. Beginners and advanced skiers appreciate the Arlberg, because of the variety of the slopes enjoyable for everyone.

The elevated railway Valluga, which goes up to 2811 meters, the Rendl-Rail, the Galzig-rail, the Kapall-rail and the Gampen-rail, the Steinmähder chair lift the newly built Flexenbahn which connects Zurs and Stuben/Rauz and the Auenfeldjet which connects the ski regions Lech Zurs and Warth-Schröcken, are just some names of the elevators at the Arlberg that let the hearts of skiiers jump higher.

With 305 connected km of slope the Arlberg is the largest interconnected skiing area. The 5 big ski- areas namely: St. Anton, St. Christoph, Stuben, Lech Zurs and Warth-Schröcken form a new dimension of ski pleasure. In October 2017, the Arlberg was selected to be the best ski-area of the world.

88 modern elevators get you above sea level between 1300 and 2811 meters, most of them offer comfortable and heated seats. Besides there are 25 flat conveyors – helpful  for beginners and children. All together, there are 305 km slopes at all levels. Experts can find 200 kilometers of slopes with powder snow.

 

 Lech

Lech consists of different districts, each of it has different advantages: Dorf, Anger, Omesberg, Tannberg, Strass, Stubenbach, Oberlech, Zurs and Zug.

Lech , Stubenbach, Zug and Zurs create a single large ski region with plenty of variety.  The pistes end at the hotel door, where guests from all over the world feel completely at home. Skiers of all abilities will come to their pleasure. With 88 cable cars and lifts, 305 km of well-tended pistes and 200 km of open slopes, there is plenty of variety for every skier on the Arlberg.

Snowboarders should try out the Fun Park, moreover there are 25 km of cross country tracks, 50 km of winter hiking trails, a natural toboggan run (floodlit in the evenings), horse-drawn sleigh rides, and numerous events throughout the season – ranging from Christmas markets to the White ring race.

Zurs

In Zurs one can find well-prepared slopes, covered with countless square metres to traverse, the resort is ideally placed with the lifts conviniently placed right next to the doorstep. Zurs is widely known as the Mecca of Alpine powder snow skiing and is home to one of the most celebrated and best ski schools in the world. The Zurs ski school offers personal attention with private instructors or group tuition, from beginners’ courses to heliskiing. Children are looked after during skiing lessons or in the “Little Zurs” nursery.
