Comfort for every generation

Hotel Sonnenburg in Lech has something for everybody, from the youngest family member to the head of the family.  We understand that older guests prefer more room and more comfort, so our suites are also available for two persons.  The beds in the brand new rooms in the main building are oversized box spring beds with spring core mattresses.  Here you can sleep better than a marmot!  The beds are adjustable to different levels of hardness, so everyone can find their optimal comfort.  There is also a pillow menu in each room, so you can pick the perfect pillow for the perfect night’s sleep.

Children and teenagers often enjoy sleeping in the same room as their parents, but it’s better when the room can be separated so everyone has their own area.  All of our family suites are separable with doors, creating a kids’ paradise.  In our main building the children sleep on sofa beds, which allow for a perfect night’s sleep with their integrated mattresses.  For fun away from skiing, our kindergarten awaits all children from two years old with a professionally trained child carer.  All the fun and games in our kids’ world guarantee an unforgettable time in your hotel in Lech.  The highlight of the day is the early evening meal at 6pm, where all kids can meet and eat together.  For the teenagers our youth room offers lots of fun with air hockey, billiards and exciting films in our hotel cinema.

The smallest guests in Sonnenburg are also well catered for.  In addition to a lovingly laid-out children’s table in the restaurant, you will receive everything your baby needs upon arrival.  The following articles are available free of charge in your room:

  • cot with matching bed linen
  • baby phone
  • changing mat
  • nappy bin
  • kettle
  • steam steriliser
  • nappies and wipes (at extra charge, on request)

You can swim sporty laps in our ten-metre-long indoor pool. All family members enjoy the wonderfully relaxing moments of recreation in the wellness area of the Sonnenburg family hotel in Oberlech. Children accompanied by an adult may visit the family sauna every day until 5:00 p.m., after which time it transforms into a separate area for women. The pleasant warmth of the sauna is just as much a hit with young guests, especially after a day’s skiing. Your family can then cool down in the mist grotto. An additional wellness oasis in the basement guarantees peace and relaxation for guests aged 16 and older. Here you’ll find a Finnish sauna, laconium, steam bath, Kraxen hay bath and infrared cabin.

Indoor panorama swimming pool

Water fun for young and old! The indoor pool is especially popular with children. While you enjoy your time at the poolside, your kids splash about in the water. Here, they can run about to their heart’s content. A spectacular view of the Arlberg mountain panorama can be enjoyed from the pool. Our infrared cabin is also to be found directly beside the pool.

Finnish sauna

This traditional form of bathing awakens a zest for life and a sense of wellbeing! Our Finnish sauna is open to you every day from 2:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. If you would like to enjoy a sauna at another time, we will be happy to accommodate your wishes. A temperature range of between 80° – 90° centigrade is reached in this style of bathing. The sauna session ought to last between approx. 5 and 10 minutes, depending upon your physical condition. Make sure that you plan sufficient rest time following the sauna session.

Steam and inhalation bath

A unique health and bathing experience! At a temperature of approx. 42° – 45° centigrade, your body is purified, your respiratory organs vitalised and your hair and skin nourished. After some 15 minutes in the steam bath, it is advisable to treat your body to around 30 minutes of calm and relaxation. Ensure that you drink sufficient fluids during this period.

The Kraxen hay bath

A good deed for your immune system! The temperature range prevailing here creates the optimum prerequisite for the relief and reinforcement of your immune system. A gentle dampening and warming up of the mountain meadow hay releases its active ingredients. On account of the special seats, the Kraxen hay bath is especially effective for the shoulder, back and pelvic region.

Laconium with rose quartz

You should allow yourself some time for the laconium. For it to be fully effective, it is recommended that a laconium session last between 30 and 60 minutes. The radiant heat generated here will boost your immune system. A special music concept and the rose quartz result in the releasing of energies which dissolve stress and have a positive impact on your cardiovascular system.

Cooling down after the sauna during wellness on the Arlberg

Revitalise your organism in the ice grotto. Here, you’ll also find the ice fountain, which stimulates your circulation. Situated in the mist grotto are the Kneipp cold water pools. The fine pebbles on the floor of the pools ensure a pleasant reflexology massage.
