Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole, Wyoming is a mecca for advanced skiers and boarders from all over the world. Jackson Hole skiing is situated around the village of Teton, which is around 25 minutes by free ski bus from the main town. Jackson Hole is an authentic cowboy town that has become a luxury ski holiday resort.

In 2015/16 Jackson Hole celebrated it’s 50th anniversary and introduced the new Teton quad lift creating 3 new pistes and access across the northern ridgeline.

The film ‘Any Which Way You Can’ with Clint Eastwood was shot here and the Millionaire Cowboy Bar was featured. The restaurants are typically American with huge portions and genuinely friendly service. The town is busy all year round as it is the gateway to the Yellowstone National Park that has an incredible range of wildlife and the famous geysers like ‘Old Faithful’. We recommend a day trip on skidoos to see the Buffalo, Moose and Elk close up.

The resort village of Teton has an excellent après ski bar called the Mangy Moose that has live music every night but when that quiets down around 8 the village is pretty quiet. The Hotel bars open until late but if you want nightlife then you should take a bus or taxi to Jackson Hole.

There are several excellent hotels right at the bottom of the slopes. The transfer from the Jackson Hole airport is only 25 minutes.

Jackson Hole skiing is aimed at advanced skiers. The legendary ‘Steep and Deep Camp’ takes advanced skiers to extreme skiers. The terrain is steep and the snowfall averages over 38 ft or 11.6 m per season. The amount of terrain available directly from the lifts is huge but we highly recommend you hire a guide and with only a short hike or a turn down secret paths between cliffs and you will access virgin powder even weeks after a snowfall.

The tree line goes virtually to the top of the mountain so even in bad weather you can ski in protected areas. This is a serious skier’s mountain and should be a must for anyone who wants to do the best of the best.
